A community tradition was born in 1987 when the Friends of Shore Acres decided to "string a few lights" to help celebrate the holidays. That first season, 6,000 miniature lights, one Christmas tree, and the decorated Garden House drew 9,000 visitors.

Now, 275,000 lights - both holiday L.E.D. and landscaping - many Christmas trees, lighted sculptures, entertainment in the pavilion, and a beautifully decorated Garden House draw 40,000 to 50,000 visitors each season.

Thanksgiving thru New Year's Eve - 4:00 - 10:00 PM every night. (including Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Eve) Walk-thru Display - All abilities accessible. Open Garden House with cookies, hot cider, punch and coffee.

And as luck would have it, this magical place fell into the hands of the Russell family, who heard the call and felt the vision to create a spirited outdoor adventure, while still embracing the unique and cherished era of what some consider to be the golden age of golf course architecture.

It’s all about golf, it’s all about family, it’s all about fun, all the time. Troy Russell resurrected the course to capture the old flavor and retain the old-fashion look. Russell has been affiliated with regarded names such as The British Open, The Masters, The US Open, The PGA National Championship, Presidents Cup and The Walker Cup, geographically spanning three continents.

Troy Russell was also instrumental in the development of Bandon Dunes into a world-class resort, home to the Curtis Cup in 2006.

Old Bandon Golf Links is host to a links-style experience that includes nine holes; in good form for seniors and families, but also sports a creek that serpentines 7 holes, and bunkers that create a challenge for even the most tenured golfer.

If you yearn for yesteryear, try a round with antique hickory golf clubs from the 1920’s, or take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to try an 1890’s set with authentic gutta percha balls.
